CIDREE 2004 GA Pre-conference: The Implications of Lifelong Learning for school Education
The National Institute for Public Education (OKI) will host the annual General Assembly of CIDREE (Consortium of Institutions for Development and Research in Education in Europe) on 19 November 2004. According to CIDREE traditions a conference will precede the General Assembly on 18 November 2004.
This year the GA pre-conference will discuss The Implications of Lifelong Learning for School Education. The reason for choosing this theme is related with the increasing importance of the development of lifelong learning (LLL) as a common European educational goal. Lifelong learning has become, during the past decade, a general policy framework that has implications for all areas and levels of schooling and learning.
The organisers of the 2004 pre-conference wish to offer an opportunity for CIDREE institutions to engage in a professional debate on various aspects of school education in a LLL perspective. These aspects may include „input factors” (like curricula or teaching materials), „process factors” (like the organisation of effective learning environment at school level) and „output factors” providing feedback and enhancing the sustainability of changes (like evaluation and assessment).
Participants of the pre-conference are the heads and contact persons of CIDREE institutions, and invited Hungarian educational experts. Key-note speeches will be given by Roger O’Keeffe (EU Commission), Jos Letschert, SLO, The Netherlands, Csapó Benő, Szeged University and Vilmos Vass, Sulinova Programme Development Centre. Presentations/talks will also be delivered by Anne Whipp, ACCAC Wales, Ian Colwill and Tom Leney, QCA, England and Bruno Losito, INVALSI, Italy.
